Zalmi Aiming to Complete Peshawar Stadium Rennovation to Host PSL 2020 Matches

Peshawar Zalmi is aiming to complete the renovation work at Arbab Niaz Stadium before the start of 2020 Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign.

However, the renovation process might not be finished in due time which is why the PSL management has not considered Peshawar as a possible venue to host any PSL matches.

Javed Afridi and Peshawar Zalmi management have expressed their desire to hold a total of three matches at the home venue for the upcoming PSL season.

Javed Afridi’s plans to host matches in Peshawar were shot down by Senior General Manager Operations, PSL, Usman Wahla. In an email, he said:

The stadium in Peshawar won’t be ready by the time next season starts, which is why we won’t be considering it for PSL 5.

Following this, Javed Afridi has contacted Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed the possibilities with PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani and MD Wasim Khan.

Wahla further added:

Chairman Mani will meet PM Imran in the upcoming few days, where he will talk about this matter. It’s only after that we will be in a position to further comment on this situation.
