PCB Not Paying Sri Lanka Anything for the Tour of Pakistan: Wasim Khan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Managing Director Wasim Khan has revealed that the board has not made any monetary commitments to the Sri Lankan team for their tour of Pakistan.

Initially, the Sri Lankan board had some reservations regarding sending their team to Pakistan despite a security delegation visiting the venues and giving positive feedback.

After some weeks, the Sri Lankan board agreed to send their cricket team to Pakistan, which gave birth to rumors that PCB agreed to give money to the board and players for their tour.

Denying these allegations, PCB MD said:

We are not paying Sri Lanka even a penny. They are coming to Pakistan without being paid anything.

Wasim Khan further added that PCB is aiming to host all their home series in Pakistan and not in UAE anymore.

Pakistan is safe now. There is no reason for foreign teams to not visit us or for us to play our home series abroad now. Besides it’s an expensive deal to play in the UAE.

He also revealed that a number of officials are scheduled to visit Pakistan to assess the security and other logistical details.

Foreign officials tend to believe more on actual facts than what we tell them. officials from Cricket Australia, England and Wales Cricket Board’s as well as Bangladesh are also supposed to visit Pakistan.
