Huawei Tech Support Confirms Mate X’s October Release Date

Huawei’s flagship foldable smartphone, Mate X, was originally going to arrive in November. That launch date has now been revised, and will now be revealed in October.

It was confirmed through Huawei’s customer service team that the Mate X is expected to arrive in October, at least for China. An international release is expected to follow in November, but we’ll have to wait and see before this info is confirmed.

Huawei Mate X Ocober release

Guan Wei, an officer from Huawei’s customer service has said to keep an eye on the company’s official website, Weibo account, and forums for an official launch date reveal.

Considering the October launch date, it appears that the company is all set and ready to begin mass production of the phone. This means that an international release will follow soon after the device rolls out in China.

Updated Specifications?

Huawei Mate X was showcased at the MWC 2019 earlier this year with a Kirin 980 chipset. It is speculated that the company will bump it up to the Kirin 990 with built-in 5G compatibility on the final release. It is not clear whether these will be two different variants or the original will be replaced with the new one.

Huawei’s official websites list the Mate X with a Kirin 980 SoC as well, but this could change once the device officially rolls out. Similar to the Mate 30, the Mate X  will not support Google Services either. However, this is no cause for concern as Google apps are incredibly easy to install on the Mate 30.
