Vivo Y12 targets the mid-range smartphone market with a large display, impressive battery life, a triple camera setup, all with an affordable price tag. It is currently going for a market price of Rs 26,999.
We at ProPakistani got our hands on a review unit. Here’s what we think about the phone.
The box opens up to a smaller case which contains a gel back cover with a slight texture to it.
Under the case is the device itself and the sim ejection tool. At the bottom of the box, you’ve got a Micro USB Cable and a standard 10W charger. No earbuds here, unfortunately.
The display is aesthetically pleasing with a 6.35-inch 720p panel, thin bezels on the sides and a relatively thick chin at the bottom. The top of the display has a waterdrop notch, which in our opinion, is the best implementation of a notch due to its tiny surface area.
The default color of the device is called Aqua Blue. It has both a transition effect and a gradient. The primary camera setup is a combination of 13MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP sensor for bokeh shots.
The power and volume buttons are all on the right side and on the left there’s a dual SIM card tray. The bottom is lined up with a microUSB port, a speaker grille, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The top is completely clean.
The phone starts up with Android 9 Pie with Vivo’s custom Funtouch OS on top. App opening speeds are average, but not bad by any means. This is due to the phone’s built-in EMMC storage.
The camera app features a dark and simplistic design with different modes including Panorama, Wide, Beauty, Pro Mode and so on. We will cover the camera results in our detailed review later.
There’s also a massive 5,000 mAh battery in the Vivo Y12, which should lend itself well to the low-powered internals, resulting in long battery life.
