Govt Planning to Develop Bundal Island Karachi & New Blue Area Islamabad

The federal government is considering to develop Bundal Island Karachi and New Blue Area Islamabad to address the growing housing need in the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on Monday before leaving for a three-day official visit to China. During the meeting, the proposals for the development of the said projects were discussed in detail.

PM Khan was briefed about the prospect development areas around Karachi and the establishment of a tourist resort at Bundal Island within the jurisdiction of Port Qasim.

The development of the New Blue Area in the federal capital was also on the agenda.

The premier was told that the phased development of new projects will not only provide quality housing to the masses but will also prove to be a lucrative opportunity to attract foreign investors.

The Prime Minister proposed offering incentives to bring foreign investments for these projects. He said that the focus should be on the construction of high-rise buildings to address the lateral spread of Islamabad.

Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Chairman Board of Investment, Zubair Gilani, Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority, Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Hyder and other senior officers attended the meeting.
