Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister of Punjab has approved a motorbike ambulance service for all districts of Punjab.
The decision was made during the 20th meeting of Punjab Emergency Council, along with the approval to procure new ambulances.
The provincial government will also give special monetary incentives to personnel undergoing emergency service training.
The CM also ordered the launch of Rescue 1122 at the tehsil level. The meeting deliberated on matters concerning the rescuers, including plans to provide monetary aid and insurance for rescuers who died during service. In this regard, a special committee under the law minister Raja Basharat will submit final recommendations for financial and regulatory approvals.
Buzdar said that new standard operating procedures should be devised for the purchase of new equipment and ambulances for rescue services in the province. This is to eliminate unnecessary delays in the procurement of new equipment.
The minister added that the safety code for the construction of high-rise buildings should be strictly followed and a new system for safely transferring patients to hospitals should be implemented.
