Punjab Safe City Project Will Be Expanded to 3 More Cities

Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has announced that the Punjab Safe City (PSC) project is expanding to Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Taunsa.

The minister announced this decision at the recent meeting of Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA).

The project will be completed under the annual development program rather than a public-private partnership. CM Buzdar has issued directions to authorities to complete the project as soon as possible.

Under the project, CCTV cameras will be installed in Chunian Tehsil. CM Buzdar says that video monitoring is central to improving law and order and eliminating crime.

CCTV cameras have been installed at Shahdara Chowk and Thokar Niaz Baig under the Lahore Safe City Project. Installation of CCTV cameras at all entry and exit points of Lahore will be completed in the coming months.

Additional funds for operational purposes of the Lahore Safe City Project were also approved during the PSCA meeting.

The scope of Punjab Safe City Project will be extended to all of Punjab soon, Buzdar concluded.
