WEF Rates Pakistan Poorly on Efficiency of Air Transport Services

The World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) for 2019 has been compiled based on a number of factors and one of the sub-categories used in the ranking was the efficiency of air transport services.

In the overall GCI, Pakistan was ranked at 110th place, however, in terms of the efficiency of air transport services, Pakistan scored 52.9 points out of 100, securing 93rd place on the list which includes 141 countries. The country got a value of 4.2 on a scale of 1-7 with 7 being the best.

The ratings were based on the following survey question:

In your country, how efficient (i.e. frequency, punctuality, speed, price) are air transport services?” [1 = extremely inefficient, among the worst in the world; 7 = extremely efficient, among the best in the world]
