The biggest highlight on Redmi’s launch event today was undoubtedly the Redmi K30 series that brings 5G connectivity, 120Hz display, 64MP camera, and a large battery all for just $284.
However, the conference also unveiled a handful of other smart products including a Redmi smart speaker and the Redmi Router AC 2100.
Redmi Router AC2100
The AC2100 is Redmi’s first-ever internet router that features a compact rectangular design fitted with six-omnidirectional antennas for high signal amplification and gain. The dotted texture at the top and bottom helps the device with heat dissipation.
The router can connect with up to 128 devices and can limit usage for children using time limits, URL ranges, and history via the new Xiaomi MiWiFi app 5.0. This app can also keep track of devices connecting and disconnecting from the router, allowing users to identify any unknown third parties.
On the inside, it features an 800MHz dual-core CPU with 128MB of RAM. There is also support for IPV6, autoconfiguration of IP addresses, and security features that prevent CCTV cameras from being hacked and block smart speakers from eavesdropping.
Buying the Redmi AC2100 router gives users 3 months of free NetEase UU Game Booster subscription. This service provides a stable connection for lag-free gaming.
The Redmi Router AC2100 is set to go on sale on December 12 for $24.
Redmi XiaoAI Speaker Play
The XiaoAI smart speaker has a 1.75-inch speaker unit with a power rating of 5 watts. It has a 350cc large sound cavity in a U shaped design to help produce loud and high-quality audio output.
The dotted mesh pattern helps with Bluetooth connectivity for controlling smart home locks and light bulbs.
It features a voice recognition system that can become familiar with users’ voices over time to understand them better.
The Redmi XiaoAI Speaker Play will be available in white, pink, green, and blue color schemes once it goes on sale on December 12 for just $11.
