Solve All Your Math Woes With Microsoft’s New App

Standard calculator apps only come in handy for solving simple and straightforward mathematical equations, leaving people to figure out complex algebraic problems by themselves.

Microsoft’s Math Solver app is going to address that shortcoming as it is built to solve complex arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and even word problems. It is based on the math assistant found on OneNote commonly used in schools.

The app uses artificial intelligence to quickly recognize a problem and provide step by step solutions to help understand the question. It also offers online video lectures and interactive graphs to explain the concept even better. Users of the app can bookmark questions to review them at a later date, save or delete their history, and also get help from example questions to get started.

You can type in the question using the built-in calculator interface, scan a question (insert a picture), and even solve a handwritten question through the drawing feature.

The Microsoft Math Solver app is available for free on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. It is still being beta tested by a limited group of developers, so expect improvements and visual updates to flow in gradually.

However, it does come with dark mode and plenty of supported languages right off the bat.
