Hyundai Nishat aims at making a big splash in the compact SUV segment by revealing the all-new Tuscon in Pakistan. The car is set to be launched in the Pakistani Market by June 2020. The compact SUVs and crossovers have garnered significant popularity as of late and Hyundai wants a piece of some of that glory.
With their 5 doors, 2-row seating layout, the Tuscon seems to be the answer to the likes of Honda Vezel/HR-V, Kia Sportage and the Toyota RAV-4. By offering a decent range of features and specifications, Hyundai’s latest offering in the compact SUV segment seems to be a worthy contender.
With that said, here’s all you need to know about the brand new Hyundai Tuscon:
At first glance, the Tuscon looks similar to every other crossover in the market. However, upon closer observation, you can tell that it is unmistakably a Hyundai with its trademark large and imposing front grille, angular oval-ish headlights and taillights, smooth flowing lines and a round silhouette, making up a fairly decent looking car.
On the front end, we have the dual-barrel LED Headlamps with Daytime Running Lights that provide a contemporary look. At the bottom of the bumper beneath the hexagonal chrome grill, you will spot a skid-plate that makes the car look tough and off-road-ready (which might not be its purpose). You also get fog lamps and LED Daytime Running Lights at the bottom as well.
On the side, you are greeted with power-operated side mirrors with built-in turn signals. You will also spot the silver roof rails and chrome door-handles giving a bit of character to the otherwise very sophisticated side profile of the SUV. Also, the car features side-garnish which gives the Tuscon a rugged look.
Moving around to the back and you’ll find the elongated oval-ish taillights native to the Hyundai design, a couple of rear fog lamps at the bottom and a shark-fin antenna at the back for style and better radio signal reception.
The interior features a cream and black trim combo with the bits of silver trim, overall making up for a nice place to spend some time in every day. The design is simplistic yet contemporary and the cabin space is plentiful whereby you can haul your family and/or groceries around with ease and comfort.
You get multi-control steering to control various features and functions of your car.
The car features a Smart HD AVN infotainment system with voice recognition.
The car also features a panoramic sunroof that can retract to reveal up to 70% of the glass roof, which is the best retraction capability for a sunroof in the entire market.
The car also offers soft, smooth and plush leather seats that can carry you and your family around in comfort.
You get a sizeable luggage space in the back with foldable back seats, whereby the luggage can be improved even more.
The engine is a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinders, 16 valve motor with variable valve timing technology, capable of putting out 155 horsepower and 190 newton/meters of torque.
The car shall be offered in 4 variants, 2 of which shall be offered with FWD drivetrain with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission and the other variants shall feature an AWD drivetrain with the same transmission options.
The all-new Hyundai Tuscon is expected to come with the following features:
Although any official numbers have not been released as of yet, it is speculated that the price of the Hyundai Tuscon shall be between Rs. 50 Lac and Rs. 70 Lac based on the trim level that you opt for.
