Oppo A52 Comes With a Huge Battery & Midrange Specs

Oppo appears to be on a phone releasing streak lately with a trio of phones released within just a few days. The latest one from the Chinese brand is the all-rounder Oppo A52 powered by the Snapdragon 665, UFS 2.1, a massive battery, and more.

Design and Display

The Oppo A52 has a flat 6.52-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a normal sized punch-hole cutout on the top left corner for the front-facing camera. Oppo has also jumped the side-mounted fingerprint sensor bandwagon.

The overall bezels seem a little bit on the thicker side, especially the chin being very broad and chunky.

The back has an L-shaped quad-camera setup housed in a rectangular module. The design at the back is called the “3D star design” for the way the color gradient shines like a star around the main camera.

Internals and Storage

The handset is powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 665 SoC that has a 2.0Ghz Octa-core processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage which is expandable via a micro SD card. Something we’re seeing less and less of these days, especially in flagships, a trend that needs to make a comeback.

For the software side of things, the Oppo A52 boots the highly customized ColorOS 7.1 on top of Android 10.

Cameras

The rear camera setup includes a 12MP main shooter with a wide-angle lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and two 2MP units for depth sensing and macro photography. The camera can record 1080p videos at 60 FPS with enhanced stabilization thanks to the Ultra-Steady mode.

The 8MP selfie camera has an AI Beauty Mode to match skin tones with different backgrounds and lighting conditions.

Battery and Pricing

The battery compartment holds a massive 5,000 mAh power cell equipped with 18W fast charging that should be able to charge the device from 0 to 100% in over 2 hours.

There is no word on the Oppo A52’s availability as of yet, but it will be available for $225 once it goes for sale.
