Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is Shattering for No Reason

In February this year, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S20 lineup with Galaxy S20 Ultra being the star of the show. However, the Exynos version of the $1400 smartphone comes with its fair share of technical problems.

Since the start, people have been complaining about issues like terrible thermals, lower performance, battery drain, and a green tinge on the display. These issues were recently fixed via a software update.

Meanwhile, users around the world have started reporting an issue that cannot be fixed by a software update. A couple of users have reported the breaking of camera glass on the premium S20 Ultra for no reason at all. Reportedly, for some users, it started as a hairline crack inhibiting the camera’s ability to zoom. While for others, the glass just broke out of nowhere, leaving a gaping hole.

It is to be noted that most of the victims have confirmed that they have not dropped their devices and are using high-quality cases as well.

And throwing salt on fans’ wounds, breakages like this are not covered by warranty, S20 Ultra buyers will have to pay up extra to get the issue fixed. For those with Samsung Premium Care, the repair will cost $100, while others will have to pay a hefty $400 to replace the broken glass. Although, till the worldwide lockdown progresses, they are stuck with these broken premium phones.

Samsung has not yet commented on the issue. Keep logging in for more updates.
