Zong, Jazz among Most Supportive Brands in Pakistan’s Covid-19 Fight

Zong and Jazz, two of Pakistan’s telecom frontrunners, have found their place among the country’s top 10 companies with the most supportive roles during the country’s ongoing fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Conducted by Ipsos, the world’s third-largest market research company, the survey revealed that many Pakistanis recognize Zong, Jazz and other companies from different sectors as highly responsive in the times of current Covid-19 crisis, extending timely support to mitigate the pandemic’s adverse economic fallout.

The list of companies that came forward to support the country during the crisis also includes ARY News, PTCL, Lucky Cement, Kisan, UBL, among others. The composition of respondents was 60% urban and 40% rural, with 70% of them being men and 30% being women.

It’s pertinent to note that Zong was reported to have pledged Rs 1.5 billion to support the country’s battle against the virus. The company has recently donated Rs 7 million toward the prime minister’s Corona Relief Fund.

Jazz, too, announced a relief package of Rs 1.6 billion toward the same cause. Of the aid, Rs 50 million have been donated in cash to the prime minister’s Corona Relief Fund, whilst the rest is being spent in supply of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to healthcare workers and discounted services for the users.
