England Cricket Team Ready to Tour Pakistan: Silverwood

England Head Coach, Chris Silverwood, has said that he’s looking forward to visiting Pakistan with his team, jokingly adding that the batsmen would love to bat on the pitches there.

The former England pacer said that he has never been to Pakistan and it would be a good way to explore the country.

I think we are getting there. Personally I would have no problem with that. I’ve never been to Pakistan so it would be nice to go and have a look. I know our batsmen would look forward to batting on their wickets.

He said this in the context of PCB Chief Executive, Wasim Khan’s request to the England Cricket Board to send their team for a short tour before their next scheduled tour in 2022.

“England are due to tour in 2022, and we’d love to have them coming over well before then for a shorter tour”, Wasim Khan said earlier.

There were speculations that the PCB would invite the English team after making the trip to the UK despite the COVID-19 pandemic. It remains to be seen how the ECB responds to the request, however, it would be a nice gesture in return to visit Pakistan after over 15 years.
