Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that local passengers will not require a coronavirus negative report to travel on its flights.
PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan announced this adding that several countries have issued similar travel advisories for local travelers.
He added that the national airline has yet to decide about the COVID-19 test report for international flights keeping the destination countries’ demands in view.
For foreign travel, each airline has designated laboratories and passengers must keep abreast of changes and advisories from these airlines.
The travel has changed after coronavirus as there are a lot of restrictions on foreign travel, the spokesperson said. He hoped that these rules will be relaxed once the anti-coronavirus vaccine is developed and commercially available.
Even today, traveling from Africa requires a yellow fever vaccination while travelling from Pakistan requires a polio vaccination.
PIA has not fully restored its international operations so far. Flights operated for various global destinations are meant for repatriation of stranded Pakistanis. However, the national flag carrier has fully restored local flights to almost all destinations and airports across the country have been reopened under strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
