70% of Pakistanis Think The Coronavirus Threat is Being Exaggerated: Gallup Pakistan

Recently, Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International Association, carried out a survey titled “Coronavirus Attitude Tracker Survey 2020.”

More than 1,300 Pakistanis participated in the survey that was conducted between 9 July and 10 August.

According to the survey, 59% of Pakistanis are taking precautionary measures but are not completely sure about whether the Coronavirus is real or not. 32% Pakistanis are taking precautionary measures such as wearing face masks, frequent hand washing, and social distancing as they firmly believe that Coronavirus is real.

Moreover, 70% Pakistanis feel that the threat of Coronavirus is exaggerated while 26% think the threat is real.

When asked if they think the Coronavirus outbreak is a foreign conspiracy, 55% Pakistanis agreed to the question while 33% disagreed.

54% Pakistanis are of the view that Coronavirus is a laboratory-made virus that has been spread in the world on purpose whereas 31% think that the virus originally broke out of a wet market in Wuhan, China.

Responding to the question: “Do you think the Coronavirus pandemic is now under control?”, 54% strongly agreed with that it is and 25% somewhat agreed while 6% disagreed, 9% strongly disagreed, and 6% gave no reply to the question.
