Nubia, known for its Red Magic Gaming oriented smartphones, has just launched a futuristic smartwatch with a curved OLED display. The smartwatch looks pretty much identical to the ZTE Alpha smartwatch launched in February 2019.
Design and Display
The Nubia watch features a 4.01-inch super flexible AMOLED screen with always-on functionality and a crown element on the side for touch-free controls. The display is curved and wraps around the wrist. Its dial is designed using lightweight aluminum, constructed with a nano-injection process using biomedical-grade ceramics alloy.
The display extends into 316L stainless steel straps, which, according to the company, have gone through more than 30 processes for both aesthetics and structural strength. The steel straps connect to soft and skin-friendly silicone straps. It also comes with a Napa leather strap made of imported Italian calfskin as a free add-on.
In terms of functionality, the Nubia watch can track a standard array of sports and activities. It also supports eSIM independent call functions of China Mobile and China Unicom, and Alipay mobile payment. Other extras include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Pricing and Availability
The Nubia watch is available in black, green, and red colors and is currently up for pre-orders in China and will set users back by $179. There is no word about its international availability as of now.
