Samsung Announces Xiaomi Mi Band Lookalike

Samsung has just announced its latest fitness tracker, the Galaxy Fit 2, as a successor to the 2019-launched Galaxy Fit. Although design-wise, the new band is not an upgrade over its predecessor, in terms of functionality, it comes with several new features.

Design and Display

The fitness band looks a lot like its predecessor. It has a similar squircle display attached to removable silicon bands.

The Galaxy Fit 2 comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED touch display that can be paired with up to 70 different watch faces, some of which can be customized as well.

Other Specifications

Samsung’s latest fitness tracker can automatically detect and track five different activities. However, the total number of activities it can track and monitor is more than 90 but they have to be manually selected. The band also has a sleep tracker, calorie counter, a heart rate monitor, and a distance measurement mode.

It comes with IP68 water and dust resistance and packs a 195mAh battery that, according to the company, can provide a 15 days battery life on a single charge. Like its predecessor, the band can be connected to both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth.

Pricing and Availability

The watch is being pitted as an alternative to the Galaxy Watch for those who want a smaller and less expensive device for health tracking. It will be available in Germany on October 2 for €46.76. There is no news of the price and availability in other countries.
