Shahid Khan Becomes 66th Richest Billionaire in the US

Forbes has ranked Shahid Khan, a Pakistani-born American billionaire businessman and sports tycoon, as the 66th wealthiest man in the US.

According to the Forbes 400 Wealthiest Americans, Shahid Khan has a total net worth of $7.8 billion.

Now 70, Shahid moved to the US back in 1967 aged 16 to study at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC).

In 1971, he graduated with a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the UIUC’s Grainger College of Engineering.

Shahid started working at the automotive parts manufacturing company Flex-N-Gate during his university days.

Shahid bought auto parts supplier Flex-N-Gate from his former employer in 1980.

Flex-N-Gate is now the 7th largest US automotive parts supplier company and 33rd largest supplier in the world. It is the 49th largest privately held US company with an annual turnover of $8.3 billion.

In 2012, Shahid purchased Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL, a professional American football league, for an estimated $760 million.

Shahid bought Fulham, a London-based football club in 2013, for an undisclosed amount.

According to Forbes, the 400 richest Americans now own $3.2 trillion.

Amazon Founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $179 billion has been ranked as the richest American for the third year in a row.

Bezos is followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates with a net worth of $111 billion who is followed by CEO Facebook Mark Zuckerberg with a net worth of $85 billion.
