FIA Identifies Car Importers Who Sent Rs. 40 Billion Outside Pakistan via Hawala & Hundi

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has implicated 20 importers of reconditioned cars for their involvement in illicit transaction activities.

According to details, the importers, over a period of 7 years, have transferred more than Rs. 40 billion outside Pakistan through Hawala and Hundi.

A number of prominent reconditioned car importers nominated by the FIA have been using Hawala and Hundi to transfer billions of rupees outside Pakistan.

Most of the importers made payments to Khalid Solangi Group based outside Pakistan. However, none of the importers maintained any payment record of the transactions to Khalid Solangi Group.

FIA has contacted Interpol for the arrest and extradition of Khalid Solangi.

Besides, FIA also conducted a raid on a residential complex in Gulzar-e-Hijri, Karachi.

Director FIA Sindh Zone, Munir Ahmed Shaikh, said that the FIA team apprehended one suspect for his involvement in Hawala and Hundi transactions.

The raiding team also confiscated huge sums of national and foreign currency from the apartment of the suspect.
