Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad reported yesterday via their social media account that the Federal Excise & Taxation Department (ET&D) has collaborated with the National Database and Registration Authority NADRA to launch a doorstep vehicle registration service.
As per further details shared earlier this year by a department representative, the team will also give the registration number-plates to the car owners at their doorstep.

The announcement about this service was initially made back in May 2020, where the Director (ET&D) informed that this step is being taken to ease the registration process for the masses amid the outbreak of COVID-19 and to encourage people to document their cars in the government’s database, to reduce the use of unregistered cars and vehicle theft.
Explaining the new service, the director stated that the car owners who opt for the service shall have their cars enrolled for registration at their personal residence. Conducting this activity shall be a team consisting of an officer from the E&TD and a team member of NADRA. The service can be availed from Monday to Friday from 9 am and 3 pm.
