Chinese universities have decided to establish campuses at the recently inaugurated Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences & Technology (PAF-IAST) in Mang, Haripur.
PAF-IAST is an initiative of the KP government, aiming to provide a robust technical education infrastructure that will strengthen the development of the hi-tech industry in Pakistan.
According to China Economic Net (CEN), 5 Chinese universities have reached out to the Government of Pakistan (GOP), seeking approval to set up their campuses at the PAF-IAST.
These universities will offer more than 30 courses including artificial intelligence, material engineering, mineral development, food technology, and agricultural sciences.
Students will be taught these courses in English, Austrian, and Chinese languages as well.
After undertaking these courses, students will able to secure jobs in the IT, medical, electrical, mechanical, mineral, metallurgy, and construction sectors.
PAF-IAST’s importance has increased significantly since its launch considering the announcement made by more than 80 Chinese companies to relocate their businesses to Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur.
Besides, Pakistan Digital City (PDC) is being developed in Haripur. Stretching over 50 acres, PDC will be the country’s first digital city that will also feature a state-of-the-art modern software park.
