Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications from all over Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), for fully-funded overseas scholarships for MS/MPhil and Ph.D. for Spring and Fall 2021.
MS/MPhil scholarships are being offered in the field of Engineering Technology while Ph.D. scholarships are limited to certain fields and successful candidates will study at HEC-identified top-ranked foreign universities of advanced countries.
HEC has set 12 October 2020 as the deadline date for the Spring and Fall 2021 MS/MPhil and Ph.D. scholarships.
For MS/M. Phil scholarships, candidates must have a BS degree or equivalent (16 years) with a minimum 3 CGPA (1st division in case of the annual system) and should be registered with National Technology Council (NTC).
Meanwhile, For Ph.D. scholarships, candidates must have an MS/MPhil/ME degree or equivalent (18 years) with a minimum 3 CGPA (first division in case of the annual system).
All candidates are only allowed to have just one 2nd division throughout the academic career prior to their final degree.
Candidates who are full-time regular faculty members of public sector universities/colleges and employees of the public sector R&D organizations registered with Pakistan Council for Science & Technology (PCST) and aged 40 years or less while all other candidates who are aged 35 or less on or before 12 October can apply for the scholarship program.
HEC will award these scholarships purely on merit based on HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) that will be organized by the Education Testing Council (ETC) Pakistan on 18 October.
Candidates securing a minimum of 70% marks in HAT will be considered for the MS/MPhil and Ph.D. scholarships that will cover tuition fees and all other academic fees, round airfare tickets, accommodation, monthly stipend, book allowance, and health insurance.
