The Lahore High Court (LHC) has received a petition seeking a ban on the use of TikTok through Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and proxies.
The petitioner stated that the video-sharing app is still being used by people through VPN and proxies despite being banned by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The plaintiff sought the court’s directive for concerned authorities to block access to the Chinese app through VPN and proxies.
The PTA had placed a ban on TikTok on October 9 over its failure to regulate objectionable and vulgar content.
In a statement, the PTA said that it has been receiving complaints from different segments of the society against immoral/indecent content on the video-sharing application.

Before banning the popular app, the telecom watchdog had sent several letters to Tiktok management regarding the obscene content and had instructed it to regulate such content as per the country’s laws.
But, the regulator received no response from the app, following which it issued orders to block the app.
is that even technically possible? courts should stop entraining such petitions.
