LG’s MediHair Regrows Lost Hair and Reduces Baldness

LG has added a new product to its beauty products lineup, Pra.L, that stimulates hair growth and slows down baldness.

Named MediHair, the product is apparently a helmet that uses Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) to help the hair grow. LLLT has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating Androgenetic Alopecia, also known as male-pattern baldness.

According to LG, researchers at the Seoul National University Hospital have confirmed that using MediHair three times a week for four months significantly improves hair density and thickness.

MediHair has 146 lasers and 104 LED lights which stimulate the stem cells responsible for the growth of hair.

There are three basic modes of MediHair- a Total Care mode that stimulates the stem cells of the entire scalp, a Front Care mode that treats the front of the head, and a Top Care mode that focuses on the crown.

There is an advanced mode for people who are indecisive about which basic modes would best suit them. This advanced mode is called My Care mode which uses sensors to identify the areas of focus.

There is no official word on the price of MediHair yet.
