Google Pixel 5 Users Report a Gap Between The Display And Chassis

Google Pixel 5, the company’s recent flagship, was a disappointment for the consumers in many areas, mainly due to its recycled looking finish and mid-range processor. However, it turns out the device has other issues as well.

According to a recent report by the Android Authority, Google Pixel 5 owners are reporting a gap between the display and the smartphone’s chassis. Although, initially, only a few users reported the problem, more and more users are taking onto the Google Pixel forums and forums at XDA-Developers to bring the issue to light.

Where the issue highlights a lack of care on Google’s part, it also raises concerns for the smartphone’s IP68 water resistance rating.

The gap has been reported at various locations around the seam between the display and the frame, with most users claiming that the gap is near the front camera. Some users have also seen a gap near the SIM tray and along the top of the phone.

Moreover, the gaps are not popping up over time with use. Instead, users noticed it as they unpacked the smartphone. Whatever happened to quality control?

We have seen devices malfunction with use, but this was a first. Google has not yet commented on the matter.
