Spotify, the popular music streaming app, may finally be coming to Pakistan soon. Launched 12 years ago, the service has rolled out to many regions across the globe over time and may soon be introduced in Pakistan as well following a recent update.
A few days ago, Spotify created an official account on Instagram called “spotifypakistan” that was soon verified. The company has not officially revealed anything about Spotify coming to Pakistan, but the Instagram account already has over 14,500 followers.
Spotify’s arrival in Pakistan has been highly demanded ever since the service gained popularity. Spotify is currently the largest music streaming platform in the world with over 144 million subscribers and is available across 92 different markets. Its music catalog includes more than 60 million tracks, 4 billion playlists, and a variety of music personalization and syncing features.
Launching in Pakistan will greatly increase its pool of subscribers given how highly anticipated the app has been in the region for years.
