The alleged scandal involving Babar Azam and Hamiza Mukhtar has taken a new turn as the latter has claimed she narrowly escaped an assassination attempt last night.
According to Hamiza, two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants opened gunfire at her car near Kahna, a small town 15 km away from Lahore city.

While imploring Prime Minister Imran Khan to accord her protection, she said, “My life is in danger and I have been receiving death threats for days.”
Kahna Police has registered an FIR at the complaint of Hamiza and further investigation is underway.

Hamiza had accused Azam of sexual abuse in a press conference last month, claiming that she was the neighbor and old school mate of the incumbent Pakistan cricket team captain.
She alleged that the 26-year-old cricketer had “tricked her into love” and “tortured” her when she asked for marriage.
