The federal government has decided to build world-class museums in Abbottabad, Kalash, and Peshawar to promote their histories, cultures, and heritages, and is working on a plan to refine the natural beauty of Chitral.
These decisions have been made in consideration of Saudi Arabia’s and Qatar’s keen interests to invest in establishing museums in Pakistan.

Speaking at a webinar on Wednesday, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, said that museums can significantly improve the economy of a country by generating revenues and that the previous governments had left this sector unexplored.

He also announced that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has taken the necessary steps to boost the sector.
The SAPM also revealed that the Archeology Department will manage the Lahore Museum and that a board will be set up for this purpose.
