Edhi Foundation Releases 2020 Annual Report Detailing Various Incidents in Karachi

Edhi Foundation has published its annual report for the year 2020, detailing the accounts of different medical emergencies it responded to in Karachi this year.

According to the report, the Edhi foundation transported 325,380 people needing medical assistance to hospitals in 2020.

During the past 12 months, the organization reported 679 deaths and 9,111 injuries attributed to road accidents in Karachi. It also reported that 315 people succumbed to bullet wounds while 786 survived the gunshots in 2020.

The report states that explosions in different areas of Karachi claimed 42 lives and injured 129 people in 2020. Whereas, 145 people ended their own lives in the provincial capital this year.

Edhi foundation’s rescue teams recovered mutilated bodies of 804 newborn children and 184 adults. During the monsoon season, 303 people perished and 212 got injured in different rain-related incidents.

The welfare organization has so far shifted 3,318 dead bodies of Coronavirus patients during the pandemic in Karachi in 2020.
