The Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) is offering Self-Finance Scheme to foreign students and dual-nationality holders with educational aspirations in Pakistan. Scheduled to commence from 30 December, the new financing scheme offers admissions in MBBS and BDS to foreigners and dual nationality holders.

Objectives

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants residing overseas must have physically enrolled and passed F.Sc. (Pre-Medical)/HSSC/A-Level examinations, or equivalent.
- Applicants must have 65 percent or higher marks in F.Sc. (Pre-Medical)/HSSC/A-Level examinations or equivalent, as per an equivalence certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee Chairmen (IBCC).
- Applicants are required to have passed at least three compulsory subjects – Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics.
- Applicants to have passed the MDCAT with at least 60 percent or higher, or must have a score of 60 percent in three SAT-II subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics).

The deadline for online submission of applications is Monday, 18 January 2021. Note that only the applications that will be submitted before the official deadline will be accepted.

Originally a project of the Economic Affairs Division, the Self-Finance Scheme was transferred to the HEC in 2006, assuring a limited number of seats for students in the disciplines of Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS), Pharmacy (Pharm-D), and undergraduate Engineering (B.Sc. Engineering).
The new Self-Finance Scheme 2021 is open to Dual Nationality Pakistanis and foreign citizens with an HSSC or equivalent degrees.
