All You Need to Know About Samsung Galaxy S21: Leaks

The Galaxy S21 lineup is confirmed to arrive at Samsung’s next Unpacked event on January 14. The lineup is going to include the Galaxy S21, the S21+, and the S21 Ultra. For the first time ever, the S series is going to feature S Pen support, though it is going to be exclusive to the S21 Ultra.

Display

S21 and S21+

The Galaxy S series has featured 2K displays for years now, but that may not be the case with the Galaxy S21 and S21+. According to leaks, the two phones will be limited to FHD+ resolution while keeping the 120Hz refresh rate. The 2K resolution will stay exclusive to the Ultra sibling just like the S Pen support. The screen sizes are expected to be 6.2, 6.7, and 6.9-inches respectively.

S21 Ultra

The new Gorilla Glass Victus will protect the screen on all three phones. As seen on the iPhone 12 series, the new Gorilla Glass has slightly better scratch resistance. In addition, all of the phones will feature under-screen fingerprint sensors, massive rear camera modules, and a centered punch-hole display on all 3 phones.

Internals

The main chipset powering the Galaxy S21 series will be the new Exynos 2100 while the Snapdragon 888 will be limited to Korean and American variants. Memory configurations will go up to 8GB/256GB on the S21 and S21+, but the S21 Ultra will take it up all the way to 16GB/512GB. UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM will be available on all three.

Cameras

The S21 Ultra will be the only phone to get Samsung’s 2nd gen 108MP sensor alongside a 10MP periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, a 10MP telephoto unit with smoother 3x zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.

The S21 and S21+ will have identical camera setups including a 12MP main lens, a 64MP telephoto camera, and an additional 12MP unit for ultrawide angle shots.

The front camera will be a 10MP shooter on the S21 and the S21+, but the Ultra will get a 40MP lens.

Battery and Pricing

The fast charging is rumored to be limited to 25W on all three phones, which is disappointing to see in a 2021 flagship phone. The battery capacity is going to be 4,000, 4800, and 5,000 mAh respectively for the S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra.

European prices for the three phones were leaked a few weeks back. The S21 is expected to cost around €850, while the other may be priced at €1050 and €1350.
