The owner of JW Motors and MG Pakistan, Javed Afridi, has once again made good use of his social media by announcing the launch of another new “SOLAR & EV Charging Station” Project via a Facebook post.
These days, Afridi seems to be in the aggressive pursuit of getting Electric Vehicles (EV) to become a norm in Pakistan.
As of now, little is known about the project but it can be inferred from Afridi’s post that the new company ZedCent Plug will set up solar energy-based EV charging stations across Pakistan.
Although the new EV policy that will be implemented by the government encourages people to buy EVs and persuades manufacturers to start making EVs in Pakistan by offering multiple incentives to both parties, the infrastructure for the charging of the EVs has always been questionable for the general public and the automakers.
The introduction of this new project may be a ray of hope in terms of Pakistan’s transition to an electric mode of transportation. It will also be an encouraging development for both automakers and other private energy vendors to set up their EV charging station network across the country.
Javed Afridi is one of the most influential local figures who is a huge proponent of the Electric Vehicle (EV) policy in Pakistan and has always been very vocal in terms of informing people of its benefits. He will always be hailed as one of the most prominent Pakistani personalities who had helped the country transition into the new era of EVs.
