Vivo iQOO 7 Gaming Phone Unveiled With 120W Fast Charging And AMOLED Display

After months of endless teasers and leaks, the iQOO 7 is finally official as Vivo’s first flagship of 2021. For now, we’re getting the base model iQOO 7 with the Snapdragon 888, 120W fast charging, and a variety of gaming features. The iQOO 7 Pro and BMW Edition will likely join the fray next month.

Design and Display

The 6.62-inch AMOLED display has an FHD+ resolution and supports a variable 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also pressure sensitive to enhance gaming and the touch sampling rate is 300Hz, though it is advertised to go up to 1000Hz. It has an under-display fingerprint sensor and a centered punch-hole selfie camera.

The rear has a triple camera setup in a triangular layout over a small LED flash strip.

Internals and Storage

The Snapdragon 888 is at the helm of the phone paired with 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM for snappy performance. Unfortunately, there is no memory card slot for storage expansion.

The iQOO 7 boots Android 11 with Vivo’s new Origin OS on top which is a successor of FunTouch OS.

Cameras

The main 48MP camera has support for OIS and is accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide module as well as a 13MP telephoto camera. The main camera also has support for video stabilization with HDR. The selfie camera is a 16MP unit.

Battery and Pricing

The 4,000 mAh battery is split into two 2,000 mAh cells to support 120W fast charging. This tech is able to charge the phone from flat to 100% in only 15 mins.

The Vivo iQOO 7 will go for sale in China on January 15 for only $586.
