Samsung Reveals Its First Ever Device With An Under-Display Camera

Yesterday, we reported a leak detailing that Samsung was working on a laptop with an under-display camera. Endorsing the news, Samsung display has uploaded a teaser video revealing that its upcoming laptop dubbed ‘Blade Bezel’ will come with an OLED display that will also sport an under-display camera.

According to the teaser, the impending laptop will feature a 1 mm thin OLED panel that weighs 130 grams. Thanks to the under-display camera, the company was able to pump up the device’s screen to body ratio to 93 percent. Although we don’t know the exact dimensions of the laptop, but from the looks of it, it will be a slim and light ultraportable notebook.

This will be the first device in Samsung’s portfolio to bring a camera under the display. The Korean tech giant is rumored to be working on an under-display camera for its phones for a while now. However, it seems like the results are not optimal and the flaws can be better concealed on a laptop instead of products with a smaller form factor.

Nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction. Some experts believe that the Galaxy Z Fold 3, due launch later this year, will be the first handset from the company to feature the new tech.
