Before the start of the tournament, one player showed symptoms and was tested positive for COVID-19. The player was then transferred to an isolation facility within the bio-secure bubble. PCB confirmed that the player would have to spend at least ten days in isolation and return two negative results to re-integrate within the bio-secure bubble. They did not reveal the identity of the player.

In a separate incident, Wahab Riaz and one official of a PSL franchise breached the COVID-19 protocols set in place by PCB. They came in contact with a person outside the bio-secure bubble, and according to protocols, they were placed in a three-day quarantine period.
