Nursing Institute’s Principal Arrested for Harassing Female Students in Kasur

The police have arrested the principal of the Zainab Nursing Institute in Kasur on the charges of harassment and blackmailing of female students.

According to the details, two FIRs have been registered against Muhammad Ahmed alias Pappu Nalka, under Sections 506 [Punishment for Criminal Intimidation] and 294 [Obscene Acts and Songs] of the Pakistan Penal Code, and Section 25D [Causing Annoyance, Intimidation, and Harassment] of the Telegraph Amendment Act, 2014, for sending “inappropriate” and “sexually explicit” messages to his students.

The father of one of the victims had complained to the police about the academic and said, “The suspect was blackmailing my daughter and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the harassment”.

The police have taken Ahmed into custody for a month, and have requested that the case be treated as suo moto.

An investigation report of the crime has been sent to the regional office of Punjab’s Ombudsperson in Kasur, and a report will be presented to the Deputy Commissioner.

The families of the women have warned that they will stage protests across the district if the police fails to take action against the offender.
