Asus ROG Phone 5 To Feature 18GB RAM

Since the first ROG phone was launched, ASUS has been setting new records for what smartphones are capable of. After launching the ASUS ROG 2 with a whopping 12 GB RAM, 6000 mAh battery, and 30W fast charging, the company launched the ROG 3, as one of the first phones with 16 GB RAM.

The ASUS ROG 5 will be no less than its predecessors. Based on recent reports, it will be the world’s first smartphone with 18 GB RAM. The smartphone will be launched with two variants under the model numbers I005DA and I005DA. The former, according to Geekbench’s listing, will be the Tencent Games edition while the latter will come with a secondary display on the back.

Recently, the I005DA variant was spotted on the platform with 16GB RAM. Earlier this year, the same handset with 8 GB RAM was tested. Hence, there will most likely be a 12 GB variant as well.

The smartphone is slated to launch in China on 10th March 2021. A local e-commerce website JD.com has already put up a teaser page for the Tencent edition of the ROG Phone 5 but it does not reveal any information about the device.

We already know that the handset will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 and will boot Android 11. In terms of battery, it will offer 6000 mAh capacity like its predecessors but the fast charging will be amped up to 65W.
