LHC Orders FIR Against CCD Officials Over Illegal Detention Case

The Lahore High Court has expressed dismay over the Crime Control Department (CCD) for submitting what it called a false report in a case involving the alleged illegal detention of a citizen outside Okara Jail.

Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq took action on an application filed by Maqsudan Bibi, who sought justice for Gulfam Ali.

The applicant told the court that officials illegally abducted Gulfam Ali from outside the jail and that the victim party had video evidence of the arrest location.

During the hearing, the victim party submitted its evidence, while the CCD counsel also presented a report. After reviewing both sides, Justice Amjad Rafiq said the CCD report did not match the facts shown in the video proof.

The court directed the District Police Officer (DPO) Okara to register an FIR against the concerned CCD officials for misleading the court. It also asked the DPO to submit an implementation report within two weeks.
