Apart from supporting 4K resolution, the chipset also comes with support for other neat features including motion enhancement and motion compensation (MEMC), super-resolution, picture quality, and voice assistant. However, the key feature of the MT9638 is the variable refresh rate which will make it ideal for gaming-oriented TVs.

The AI super-resolution works in combination with MEMC to upscale the resolution of a video to the native 4K. hence, users will get smoother higher-res videos.
