Mera School Program Crosses 300,000 Enrolments in 55 Days Despite COVID-19

Punjab’s Minister for School Education, Dr. Murad Raas, has tweeted that the ‘Mera School’ program had enrolled 317,849 students by 1 February, out of which 190,498 are girls and 127,351 are boys.

Punjab Students Will Not be Promoted Without Exams This Year


The Education Department has reportedly set a target of bringing one million children to public schools within a year, and as the statistics suggest, the government is on course to achieve this target in lesser time.

As claimed by Minister Raas, the top five districts with the most number of enrolments are Rajanpur, Layyah, Nankana, Jhelum, and Chakwal.

Murad Raas had previously suggested that there was no pressure on the government vis-à-vis Single National Curriculum (SNC) and added the same would be implemented for primary classes from August this year. He also mentioned that no student would be promoted to the next grade without examinations.

The enrolment process is expected to last until an official timetable for classes is circulated.
