vivo X60 Pro: Zeiss vs. Hasselblad How Does it Compare to OnePlus 9?

vivo has continued to bet big on features as of late, and the new X60 Pro is nothing short of an all-rounder that sports a big spec sheet.

Perhaps the standout feature on the flagship-like smartphone is the camera, which comes with a Zeiss-enabled Gimbal Stabilization and other interesting features in portrait and video. Performance-wise, the X60 Pro looks stacked, but how much exactly?

What’s Good?

The curved display makes the phone look stylish and the rectangular camera module on the back doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Until now, the iconic Zeiss branding was typically seen on Nokia phones, but the X60 Pro has resumed the long-forgotten tradition of sporting Carl Zeiss lenses on smartphones.

The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor underneath the screen, which is accurate and offers a quick unlock option. What’s quite exciting about the device is that it breaks away from the mainstream bulkiness of a typical flagship device.

The display is another impressive feature of the phone, but what surprised us the most was how well it worked in broad daylight. The content is legible; your eyes don’t hurt since the screen isn’t as reflective as other smartphones.

Performance-wise, the phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 packed with 12 gigs of RAM, plus an “additional” 3GB RAM which can be enabled in settings. The gaming experience was sleek and swift and there weren’t any noticeable lag in the user interface.

The camera module looks and works impressively on both ends. This time around, vivo has inserted an upgraded ‘Gimbal Stabilization’ feature on the 48MP lens, which ensures steady performance and exciting results.

Pictures in ample lighting and outdoors look good with an impressive color gradient, the focus is topnotch and the details are well on par with OnePlus 9’s ‘Hasselblad’ camera.

What’s Weird?

Perhaps one of the few things that might annoy users is the usual FunTouch OS based on Android 11. For instance, by default, vivo programs its UI in a way that the lock-screen always displays random news, stories, and sometimes adverts, which sort of kills the vibe of holding a pristine phone.

Regarding the camera module, the phone struggles a lot with the macro feature in the camera app, since it requires the user to have a steady hand.

Overall, the vivo X60 Pro is a nice phone with all the good things that a normal flagship should hold.

The price is okay since the spec sheet is nothing short of premium, it wouldn’t hurt if you spend Rs. 129,999 on a phone which is on par with the OnePlus 9. The only discernible difference between the two phones, in terms of performance, is that the latter has a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 running in the back, while the former sports the 870 SoC which is slightly underpowered but not a dealbreaker by any means.
