Oppo Reno 5 family is getting a new member yet again dubbed the Reno 5 Z, which has just become official in Singapore for $395. Compared to the base Reno 5, the Reno 5 Z has a few downgrades in specs to make up for the price cut.
Let’s have a look.
Design and Display
You no longer get a high refresh rate on the 6.43-inch AMOLED display, but you do get a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 1080p resolution, 430 nits brightness, and more. It also comes with an optical under-display fingerprint sensor and a 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The camera setup on the back has smaller lenses but is housed in a larger module.
Internals and Storage
The phone’s main chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 800U, which beats most Snapdragon 700 series chips in terms of performance. There is 128GB of storage onboard with 8GB of RAM, and there is also a microSD card slot for additional storage.
On the software front, you get ColorOS 11.1 based Android 11 OS.
The quad-camera setup on the back includes a 48MP sensor, which is a slight downgrade from the 64MP camera on the base Reno 5. The main camera is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens and a duo of 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography. This camera is capable of recording 1080p as well as 4K clips.
The 32MP front camera has also been downgraded to a 16MP unit.
Battery and Pricing
The 4,310 mAh battery is paired with 30W VOOC Flash Charge technology for quick top-ups.
The Oppo Reno 5 Z will be available for a starting price of $395 in Fluid Black and Cosmo Blue colors.
