Speaker National Assembly Denied Entry Into Afghanistan

A plane carrying Speaker of Nation Assembly, Asad Qaiser, was denied landing at the Kabul airport for security reasons.

The development occurred on Thursday after a plane with Asad Qaiser on board was prevented from landing.

The Afghan media quoted Reyaz Arian, the commander of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, as saying that it was due to the reports of explosives placed under a building near the airport.

Qaiser had embarked on a three-day trip to Kabul, which has been called off over security concerns and will be rescheduled in the near future.

Qaiser also confirmed the development on social media. Taking to Twitter, he said that a parliamentary delegation’s visit got canceled due to the closure of the Kabul airport owing to security reasons.
