Rupee’s Sudden Decline Continues After A Long Run of Big Gains

Pakistani Rupee dipped negligibly against the US dollar today after the bank holiday on Wednesday on account of 1st Ramazan. PKR has posted losses against the greenback on Tuesday as well, after five continuous days of appreciation.

The Rupee closed at Rs. 152.831 to the USD today (April 15), down from Rs. 152.828 to the USD in the interbank market on Tuesday (April 13), with the depreciation of less than a paisa.

Against other major currencies as well, PKR posted almost blanket losses.

The only currency against which PKR did not depreciate was Saudi Riyal (SAR), although there were no negligible gains here either.

PKR posted a notable loss of Rs. 1.15 against the Euro, 60 paisas against the Pound Sterling (GBP), significant loss of Rs. 2.01 against the Australian Dollar (AUD) and 93 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).

PKR maintained its value against the UAE Dirham (AED) with an insignificant loss. The only currency against which PKR did not depreciate was Saudi Riyal (SAR), although there were no negligible gains here either.
