Karachi to Witness Extremely Hot Weather Today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scorching hot weather for Karachi today, adding that the temperature could rise to 45°C.

According to the details, the current temperature in the port city was recorded at 34.5°C, with 21 percent humidity. The Met Department also stated that strong winds are expected in the city today, with northeast winds blowing at a speed of 9 kmh.

Meanwhile, the PMD Director, Sardar Sarfraz, has declared that the severe cyclonic storm Tauktae will not threaten Pakistan’s coastal strips as it has drifted towards the Indian state of Gujarat which is 800 km away from Karachi.

He added that Karachi’s hot weather since Sunday is due to the effects of the storm and that it is likely to persist between 43°C and 45°C today.

The director also revealed that rain is expected in Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, and other cities.

The government of Sindh has constituted a committee for the cleaning of Karachi’s stormwater drains and the successful completion of all municipal-related matters.

According to the Sindh Local Government Secretary, Syed Najam Ahmad Shah, a committee has been set up to clean 41 drains of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and 514 drains of the District Municipal Corporations.
