The Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, reportedly paid a surprise visit to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Peshawar disguised as a commoner among scores of complainants who had queued to register their queries.
The CM observed all the officials stationed in the building and paid close attention to how his workers were performing.

In the aftermath of this visit, CM Khan caught a clerk and a staffer of the license branch taking bribes from the complainants before delegating their queries.

For the time being, the two officers have been suspended. Moreover, the government plans to investigate the incident to prevent such instances of corruption from occurring again.

After concluding his visit, the CM stated that more surprise visits will be conducted often so that a close eye is kept on the affairs of the provincial government.
