Japan Approves Pakistan’s Mango Facility for Exports

Following Australia, Japan has approved a mango processing facility for exports from Pakistan, as announced by the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood, on Friday.

The advisor tweeted that the Roomi Foods Vapour heat treatment plant for the export of mangoes from Pakistan has been approved by the Japanese authorities.

He added that this is the only facility in Pakistan that is equipped to process mangoes as per the quarantine requirements of the Japanese government.

“I congratulate them for this and commend the facilitation provided by Department of Plant Protection of Pakistan and Trade Counsel Tokyo Japan,” he wrote.

The approval by Japan comes days after Australia approved two of Pakistan’s mango processing facilities – Mustafa Agriculture Farm and Iftekhar Ahmed & Co in Sindh – for exports. The facilities had been approved by the Australian Department of Water, Agriculture and Environment.
