Ben Dunk Seriously Injured During Lahore Qalandar’s Practice Session

Lahore Qalandars’ hard-hitting wicket-keeper batsman, Ben Dunk, had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering from a nasty injury during their practice session in Abu Dhabi ahead of the start of the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6.

According to details, Dunk busted his lips as the ball struck him during a catching practice session. The Australian wicket-keeper was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for the realignment of his lips and ended up with seven stitches.

Lahore Qalandars’ Chief Operating Officer ( COO) and team manager, Sameen Rana, shared the unfortunate news on various social media platforms but was hopeful that Dunk can make a quick recovery and will be available for selection in the opening match of the Abu-Dhabi leg, between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, scheduled to be played on 9 June.

The 34-year old hilariously shared the image of his busted lip on the popular social media platform, Instagram. He captioned the image, “Lip filler gone wrong.”

Dunk has been a part of Lahore Qalandars squad since PSL 5. He has played 14 matches for the franchise in PSL and is their fifth-highest run-scorer since the inception of the tournament. Known for his power-hitting, Dunk played a major part in Lahore’s run to the final in the previous edition.

He has scored 380 runs at an average of 38.00 and a magnificent strike rate of 159.66. He has hit 26 sixes in his Lahore Qalandars career and has the highest score of 99*.
